Jobs to be created in bakery opening
Greggs is set to open a new bakery in Newtown after taking over a former car showroom.
The firm has taken out a 10-year lease at the premises in Pool Road, and new jobs are set to be created.
The building was a Little Chef restaurant before its most recent use as a car showroom.
Rebecca Welch of Halls Commercial, which secured the deal, said it was great news for the area.
She said: “This is a great location, just opposite Screwfix and nearby to Tesco.
“Bosses at Greggs thought it was the perfect opportunity to serve people in the area from a property which has a great frontage and plenty of parking.
“Work will now begin on transforming the building into a food premises again and we look forward to seeing the property in use once again.”
