Müller customers to see estimated returns of 26.2p per litre for milk produced in May
Dairy giant Müller has confirmed that farmers in its Müller Direct group will see estimated returns of 26.2p per litre for milk produced in May.
The company’s standard litre price will reduce by 0.5ppl to 26ppl, but producers will benefit from an estimated retail supplement of over 0.2ppl for the month.
Müller, which has a large site in Market Drayton, has also confirmed that farmers will receive a retail supplement for milk produced in April, estimated to be equivalent to around 0.15ppl.
Rob Hutchison, Müller’s agriculture and milk supply director, said: “Wholesale cream and butter values remain volatile and well below levels seen in the last few months, and although the weather has taken some of the edge off milk production, spring flush milk volumes for Müller Direct producers are expected to recover into May.
“Our strategy in the UK underpins a highly competitive milk price regardless of the short or mid-term market conditions.
“Müller Direct farmers also have the option to benefit from some major initiatives designed to reduce the impact of market volatility. We look forward to discussing these directly with farmers over the coming weeks.”
