Dozens of new jobs to come at Shrewsbury company after supermarket contract
Dozens of new jobs are to be created after Shrewsbury-based ARH Group secured a multi-million pound contract with a national supermarket.
The facilities management, building services and process engineering specialist has won the three-year electrical services contract.
The contract, which will run from June 1, will require the recruitment of an additional 50 to 60 dedicated skilled engineers, along with additional head office staff based from its base in Monkmoor Road.
The name of the supermarket hasn't been revealed, but it is believed to be Morrisons.
ARH Group has been providing project work support to Morrisons since 1999, following a response to an on-site fire at one of the company’s main distribution and production sites in Manchester.
After the fire, the company was not only able to make the site safe, but was able to complete the required work and subsequent activities to reinstate a food production line and an adjoining storage area. Since 1999, its site work for Morrisons has grown to encompass the design and installation of electrical systems including the maintenance of the existing main electrical supplies, and new transformer installations.
“These are exciting times,” said ARH Group’s managing director, Tony Holton. “This expanded contract builds on our existing core strengths to drive the ARH brand in the facilities management sector, both locally and nationally."
The announcement follows a recent major rebranding exercise carried out by the company, featuring a new logo and icons in primary colours incorporated into all ARH Group’s marketing media, from basic stationery and digital media, through to its large fleet of service vehicles.
ARH Group started life in 1990 when Mr Holton established ARH Electrical Services.
ARH has serviced multiple blue chip clients in the retail, leisure, commercial and healthcare industries.
Over the past 28 years, its range of services has rapidly expanded; and in 2009 the group achieved industry recognition as an integrated mechanical and electrical building services company, with a turnover of just under £10 million.
Already boasting an annual turnover of around £25 million, ARH Group is one of Shropshire’s largest facilities management companies.
