Toy shop The Entertainer held its grand opening in its new location at Telford Shopping Centre on Saturday, after previously being at its current site near Primark and Marks & Spencer.

The opening event included face painting, balloon modelling and giveaways.

There was also an appearance by Batgirl and Entertainer mascot Jack.

BHS in Telford closed in August 2016, one of 164 shut down across the country.

Bargain hunters gathered outside the department store ahead of its last 9am opening, hoping to find cut-price clothing, food and DVDs.

The closure came after the company failed to find a buyer.

Craig Lowe, events coordinator at The Entertainer, said he had been looking forward to the event.

He added: “We were really looking forward to The Entertainer’s grand opening event in Telford.

“It was great for the children to meet some of their favourite life-sized characters and have their picture taken.”

Crowds flocked to the store throughout the day and posed for pictures with the star guests.
