Food, gifts, art and jewellery will be on sale in the shop that will be open in the Darwin Shopping Centre for a week from October 23 to October 27.

The shop is a joint initiative between the Marches Growth Hub and Buy From Shropshire working with the Darwin and Pride Hill Shopping Centres to give a helping hand to new and smaller traders and help them reach new markets.

Taking part in the initiative are Meg Hawkins Art with her greeting cards and prints, hand-made jewellery and wooden artefact maker Danielle Flowers, Amanda Hillier Printmaking, with Shropshire-inspired prints and artwork and Skilton's Bespoke Designs, which offers bespoke and personalised cards and stationery.

They will be joined by chocolatier Chocolicious, MIST Jewellery, Cordelia’s House of Treasures, and Planet Doughnut.

Emma Chapman, of the Marches Growth Hub Shropshire, said: “This pop in shop promises to offer shoppers a chance to find some individual and unique gift ideas that they wouldn’t normally find on the high street.

“We hope people will be inspired by what’s on offer at the shop and support these businesses. It’s also an ideal opportunity to buy some special gifts for Christmas from local Shropshire traders.”

The shop will be located on the top level of the Darwin Shopping Centre opposite M&S and will be open from 9am to 5.30pm.

The Shrewsbury Shopping Centres manager, Kevin Lockwood, added: “The pop in shop will be a great addition to the shopping centre. We will be encouraging our visitors to head down to the store, meet the traders and find out more about some of these businesses that they might not ordinarily have discovered.”
