Fabdec announces turnover increase
Ellesmere-based stainless steel heat transfer product manufacturer Fabdec is celebrating a year of growth, following the announcement of a 12 per cent increase in turnover.
It comes on the back of a 17 per cent increase the previous year.
2018 has seen growth across Fabdec’s water heating, brewery, and dairy divisions, with strong performance in both the UK and export markets.
To support increasing demand, Fabdec has taken on 17 new employees in 2018, with plans to employ a further four new apprentices as part of its commitment to developing talented young people across the Shropshire region.
It’s also been a year of innovation at the company, with four new products introduced to their respective markets including new high cube container tanks and footwash technology in the dairy division, and the WXI Hi-Flo and pre-plumb system in the water heating division.
Chris Powell, managing director of Fabdec, said: “Our strong performance is testament to all of the hard work that has been put in right across the business, and it’s something that the entire company can be proud of.
“We’re delighted with the sustained growth we’ve seen in every division, and the opportunities this has created to develop unique and innovative products. Demonstrated by our Hi-Flo technology winning Heating Ventilating & Plumbing magazine’s Innovation Showcase and being named as a finalist at the Heating & Ventilating News Awards.
“Being recognised as the Best Manufacturer at the Shropshire Business Awards for these achievements was a real highlight for us this year.
“The success of the business allows us to invest in the next generation of industry talent and support the local economy. Being able to do this is incredibly important to us and our commitment to a strong apprenticeship programme remains a key priority as we look towards the year ahead.
“We also have a number of major capital investment plans for our manufacturing plant this year. We’re proud to represent British manufacturing and with a robust pipeline of innovative new products set to enter the water heating, dairy and brewery sectors in the coming months there is a cause for real optimism.”
Fabdec was formed in 1960 and has manufactured a range of products across the water heating, dairy and brewery sectors.
