New appointments for Shropshire building contractor
Building contractor Pave Aways has appointed two new contracts managers.
Gordon McCartin, who has worked for national construction giants Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon and BAM, will be based at the firm’s headquarters near Oswestry.
Daniel Higginson, who has more than 20 years industry experience and previously worked for Carillion, will head up the firm’s Welsh office in Wrexham.
This strategic investment will strengthen its design and build function that is the link between clients, projects and the supply chain. Pave Aways has also made an addition to its back office with the appointment of Jane Harvey as HR officer.
The privately owned construction firm has an annual turnover in excess of £29 million. It employs more than 100 people and works in sectors including education, health, industrial and residential across Shropshire, Mid and North Wales, Cheshire and Staffordshire.
Pave Aways is one of four businesses that have been shortlisted for the Company of the Year Award at this year’s Shropshire Chamber Business Awards.
Managing director Steven Owen said: “These new appointments will have an important role to play in the business as we work towards our target £35 million turnover by 2025.
“Gordon and Daniel bring a wealth of industry experience to Pave Aways and this will be a useful insight as we look to grow our market share in the Midlands and Wales.
“Although we are ambitious for growth, we are not prepared to compromise on the quality and service that we’ve established our reputation on. These appointments will ensure we can secure more new business whilst continuing to deliver projects to the highest possible standard.”
