Home care business launches in Bridgnorth

Jackie Garratt, who has 30 years' experience in the industry, has launched Severn Valley Homecare.

The business will offer services including personal care, meal preparation, medication, sitting in service, shopping, outings, picking up prescriptions and transport for appointments.

Jackie said: "The desire to run my own home care business has been a dream of mine for many years.

"Having been a carer in the Bridgnorth area for many years I could see that there is a glaring lack of provision for folks in their later years, or those living with a disability of some kind, who may need help with any of their personal care needs or tasks in and around the house.

"I wanted to help to plug that gap, and when the time was right, I started looking around for the right people to help me."

Jackie will be joined by manager Clare Bliss and office administrator Lisa Scott.

"Clare is a registered nurse with over 30 years of experience, many of which have been in community settings. Clare has held deputy manager positions previously and brings a wealth of knowledge to the business.

"I have known Lisa for many years and having impeccable organisational and administration skills both in the caring industry and having been a carer herself, I knew she was the right person for the job.

"We all share a passion for providing high quality care with kindness, empathy and friendliness. It is our goal and very much want to create a family feeling within the business with carers and clients alike feeling equally valued and that they are contributing in some way to that family circle."

The business is CQC registered and will be operating within a 15-mile radius from Bridgnorth.

"In the next few weeks and months we will be looking to expand the business and looking for outstanding carers who share our values and vision for the future," Jackie added.
