Software firm becomes latest ambassador for Ladder for Shropshire campaign
Software specialist Shoothill has joined the Ladder for Shropshire campaign as an ambassador to promote apprenticeships.
The Shrewsbury-based firm is a strong advocate for apprenticeships. Back in November it offered an opportunity to join the firm as a software developer through the Ladder campaign, which has since been filled.
Now an ambassador for the Ladder campaign, Shoothill is encouraging other businesses to adopt a similar approach to apprenticeships.
“It’s truly a win-win for both parties," said managing director Rod Plummer.
“We have been delighted with the progress our apprentices have been making. Just recently, one of our software development apprentices received an apprentice of the year award. Our experience is proof that apprenticeships have tremendous value."
Shoothill was founded in 2006 by long-term friends and business partners Mr Plummer and Erik Nodland.
With a combination of technical ability and a passion for business, Shoothill began to develop innovative software solutions. Shoothill started out developing live mapping tools but rapidly began to diversify.
Shoothill has won awards and broken records as software pioneers, offering digital transformation, web and app development, smart automation, data manipulation and third-party integrations.
The forecast for 2021 and beyond is highly optimistic, according to Mr Plummer.
“Now is a really exciting time to work for Shoothill. Our subsidiary Housebuilder Pro is showing real promise and we are expecting things to pick up even more as the grip of the global pandemic begins to weaken. Our newest apprentices have fit in well and are on track to complete their programmes and go on to study at degree level. We can’t wait to see where the future takes them and where it takes us as a company,” added Mr Plummer.
