60pc don’t want to go back to office until all jabbed
A survey has found most office workers in the West Midlands are worried about going back to their workplace before everyone is vaccinated.
Professional development training provider CPD Online College surveyed more than 1,000 employees to find out how they feel about returning to the office.
In Birmingham and surrounding towns, 72 per cent are worried about returning before vaccinations are all done and 70 per cent believe workers should all be jabbed before returning to the office.
Some companies have chosen to allow ongoing flexibility around working from home, however others are keen to get everyone back into the office. Going forwards, less than a quarter of respondents said that they would like to go back to the office full time. The idea of remaining at home full time had a similar response, with 23 per cent saying that they would like to continue working from home.
A much more popular option was to shift to a combination of working from home and going into an office, which was the number one choice for 53 per cent of workers.
David Lee, managing director of CPD Online College, said in response to the research: “Businesses should be aware of the real life impact that this pandemic has had on employees. Many workers are feeling a lot of anxiety about returning to ‘normal’, and it’s imperative that this is taken into account while making plans to get people back into the office.
“There was once a time when working from home was a luxury reserved for freelancers, but that is not the case anymore and businesses need to take that on board. Working from home has proven to be a success for many, and despite some challenges, this year has proven that it can be a real option for many workers to have more flexibility around home working.”
