Telford businessman considering legal action after 'losing £150,000 due to road closure'
A businessman says he has lost more than £150,000 and had to cut the hours of his five staff members since the road outside his premises was closed.
Telford & Wrekin Council shut Lightmoor Road off the A4168 on May 9 for "development work" for a nearby housing development.
But Stephen Clear, who runs Sheds Now on Lightmoor Road, says after 11 weeks of no passing trade caused by the closure, his firm has lost over £150,000.
Mr Clear, who has been supplying sheds and garden buildings to the people of Telford for for 30 years, said he has had to reduce the hours of his staff due to the road closure and is now threatening legal action.
He said: "We were just recovering from Covid and were looking to take on extra staff but now this has set us right back.
