Coffee brand celebrates first anniversary in Telford

Over the past year, Bodum has firmly established itself in the local community, hosting meetings for local organisations, delivering exceptional coffee experiences, and championing sustainability while creating opportunities for growth.

Since its grand opening, the refurbished hub at Halesfield 10 has become home to Bodum’s vibrant café and bustling outlet shop. 

On the opening of the café and outlet shop, Bodum had 13 employees and has since grown to 15, with plans to recruit further staff.

Bodum is now employing people locally in roles that serve global positions within the company, a significant sign of confidence in the Telford site.

Chris Walker, UK Operations Manager at Bodum, said: “This first year has been an amazing journey for Bodum. The support from the local community has been truly inspiring, and we’re proud to have established our café and outlet shop as key parts of the area. This year, we’re focused on taking our coffee to the next level, starting to supply local businesses with coffee roasted right here in Telford. We’re committed to continuing our investment here, providing high-quality products, and making a positive impact locally.”

Bodum’s commitment to sustainability took centre stage with the installation of a £100k solar array, consisting of 232 panels and battery storage. 

The investment powers the entire site, reduces the brand’s carbon footprint, and contributes surplus energy back to the grid. Additionally, Bodum employs innovative recycling processes, such as repurposing locally sourced cardboard for packaging.
