He will lead the management and expansion of the Group’s established companies including 4M Portable Buildings, Whixall Marina, Nixons Pet & Country Store and Tilley Green Coffee.

Joining from logistics company Americold of Whitchurch, formerly Grocontinental, where he most recently held the position of Head of Operations, Steve had responsibility for overseeing the company’s substantial warehousing operation and managing a team of over 200 people.

His rounded leadership experience at Americold included a former role heading up the company’s customer service team and directly managing customer relationships.

Steve now reunites with former Grocontinental owners, David Grocott and Linda Grocott, who established the Grocott Group.

Linda said:  “We are extremely fortunate to have Steve on-board and to have the opportunity to work with him again.

"He has enjoyed a stellar 20-year career in the logistics industry, a notoriously demanding and fast-paced world.

“As the Group continues to grow, we recognised the need for us to add specific expertise and experience to our team.

"Steve will join our leadership team, working across our businesses, and his primary focus will be to support our stability and growth.

“He will also be the key day-to-day contact to support our business leaders and will work closely with Daniel McGowan, our Group Managing Director.”

In 2017, Steve won the prestigious, national Future Leader Award presented by the Food Storage & Distribution Federation to recognise exceptional talent in the food and drinks logistics industry.
