Teenager in court over Halesowen attack

A teenager has appeared in court today charged in connection with an attack in Halesowen that left a 16-year-old in a critical condition in hospital.

A teenager has appeared in court today charged in connection with an attack in Halesowen that left a 16-year-old in a critical condition in hospital.

The boy was attacked on Friday evening.

Police arrested an 18-year-old and 16-year-old on suspicion of attempted murder on Tuesday evening.

West Midlands Police spokesman Lee Page said today a 16-year-old had been charged with a section 18 wounding with intent and was appearing at Dudley Youth Court.

The 18-year-old has been released without charge.

Meanwhile, a 14-year old and an 18-year-old, were also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the weekend.

The youth remains on bail, while the 18-year-old has had his bail cancelled and no further action will be taken.

The injured youngster remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital today, after the attack in Cocksheds Lane.

Messages of support are being left for the teenager on the social networking site Facebook.
