Thieves broke into a house in Shropshire and fled with a haul of children's toys worth more than £2,000.

Mother-of-two Stephanie Robinson, 28, from Malinslee in Telford, returned home to discover hundreds of pounds' worth of games consoles, mobile phones and a pair of trainers had been stolen.

Police said today the thieves got into the house through an insecure door at the home on Stone Row.

They made off with two PlayStation 3 consoles, an X-Box 360, two Sony Ericsson Spiro mobile phones, a silver Toshiba satellite pro laptop, two Nintendo DS consoles, about 10 DS games, a Fifa Microsoft X-Box game and a pair of trainers.

Miss Robinson, who works at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, said her two children, both boys aged eight and 11, had been left devastated and frightened by the theft last Friday.

"I arrived home and I was having my dinner when I noticed one of the game consoles was missing," said Miss Robinson. "My boyfriend went upstairs and everything was missing."

Denise Wakefield, spokeswoman for Telford police, said: "We are especially keen to hear from any neighbours who heard or saw anything suspicious at the time and we would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered any of the named stolen items for sale."

Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101 or pass on information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
