Police release image in search for Telford shoplifting suspect
Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with a shoplifting offence at a supermarket in Telford.
Officers have released the CCTV image in the hope that someone will be able to identify him.
They want to speak to him in connection with a shoplifting offence at Morrison's supermarket in April this year.
They are also keen to speak to the man about the use of a stolen bank card at the store in Wellington on the same day.
The card belonged to a woman who lost her purse outside a town nightclub, then found it had been used before she had chance to cancel it.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "A woman lost her purse outside Pussy Cats nightclub in Wellington following a night out on April 1 this year.
"The woman called her bank later that day and was told a transaction had been made.
"The card was immediately cancelled. Following inquiries it was established that the card had been used at Morrisons supermarket in Wellington.
"We are eager to speak to the man pictured in connection with our investigation and would ask anyone who recognises him to contact police."
The man is described as being white, aged in his mid to late 40s, and about 5ft 10ins tall.
When he was captured on CCTV he was wearing a Burberry baseball cap, a khaki jacket, dark trousers with two vertical white stripes down the leg.
He was also wearing white trainers with black stripes.
Anyone who thinks they know the identity of the man, or who has any information about the offences, should call West Mercia Police's public service officer Janice Gibbs on 101.
