Jewellery stolen in Telford home raid
Thieves broke into a house in Telford and stole hundreds of pounds worth of jewellery and a 39-year-old bottle of port, police said today.
The break-in happened in Hermitage Way, Madeley, between 8am on Saturday and 6pm yesterday.
Thieves forced their way in through the back of the property and made a search of a number of rooms before escaping with the jewellery.
About £800 worth of jewellery was stolen, including a man's gold wedding ring, a man's nine carat gold buckle ring and a woman's chain gold bracelet. The bottle of port was also stolen.
Denise Wakefield, Telford police spokeswoman, said: "We believe it is likely the stolen items will be sold on, so we are particularly keen to hear from any traders in the area who are offered any of the items of jewellery for sale."
