Arrest after stolen quad bikes found by police in Telford
A 25-year-old man has been arrested after four stolen quad bikes were discovered in woodland in Telford after police followed a tracking device.
The gadget, attached to one of the bikes led police to a field in Donnington.
Two of the bikes had been reported stolen from Worfield and Monkhopton, near Bridgnorth.
Police today said they were called to a farm at Worfield at about 10.25pm on Tuesday following reports that a Suzuki quad had been stolen from a locked barn about 20 minutes earlier.
Shortly after midnight, a Honda bike, was reported stolen at Monkhopton.
In both incidents, a white van with writing on the side had been in the area, police said.
The Suzuki had been fitted with a tracker and, following its activation, police went to Granville Road in Donnington at about 3.20am.
A search of woods uncovered four quad bikes, including the Suzuki and a Honda, believed to be the one stolen from Monkhopton.
A 25-year-old man driving a white van in Granville Road was later arrested on suspicion of theft.
He has been interviewed and released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Inspector Edward Hancox, from West Mercia Police, said the van had been seized for forensic examination.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, added Inspector Hancox.
