Man, 46, punched in Wellington attack

A 46-year-old man suffered a possible broken nose after being attacked in Wellington in a confrontation with a group of men.

The assault took place on Saturday at about 5.50pm.

As he walked into Station Approach he saw a group of men on the opposite side of the road. He crossed over and noticed that three of them had started to follow him. One shouted at the victim, who turned round. He was then hit in the face. The men headed towards the railway station.

A police spokesman said: "Although shaken by this assault, the victim has described the man that hit him as being Asian, around 19 years old, roughly 5ft 8ins tall and as having a square jaw. He is also described as having short, black, brushed forward hair and as wearing a grey hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.

"Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000."
