Teenager warned he faces jail term after Wellington train station threat
A teenager has been warned to expect a prison sentence after threatening a man with a knife at a Shropshire railway station.
Oliver Watson, 18, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday where he admitted having a knife at Wellington train station on December 18 last year and stealing a mobile phone from another man.
Watson, from The Grove, Hadley Park Road, Telford, was warned by Mr Recorder Martin Hurst that the crime was so serious that he would probably be sent to prison.
Mr Recorder Hurst said: "To threaten people in a public place with what was a terrifying-looking knife, you're almost certainly looking at a prison sentence."
The case was adjourned until the week commencing April 22 for sentencing and Watson was granted bail with the conditions not to enter any railway property and not to contact the victim.
