Bradley Davies, 18, of Westering, Ditherington was convicted by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court today following a trial that lasted one-and-a-half weeks.

The jury reached a unanimous verdict after deliberating for nearly a day.

Mr Bebbington, of Beaufort Green in Harlescott, died from a bleed on the brain at Stoke Hospital after being discovered unconscious and seriously injured on an old canal footpath between Ditherington and Telford Way in the early hours on September 7 last year.

The 43-year-old had been targeted by two strangers – Stewart Doran and Bradley Davies - who kicked and stamped on him.

Doran, 22, of Bainbridge Green, Harlescott has already pleaded guilty to Mr Bebbington's murder and is due to be sentenced on Friday alongside Davies, who had admitted taking part in the attack but denied criminal responsibility for Mr Bebbington's death.
