A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis resin with intent to supply, in connection with the raids.

The drugs were found at a search of a home in Brookside and at a commercial unit in Madeley.

A suspect, who was arrested at the address in Brookside, was in custody at Shrewsbury this afternoon being questioned by officers.

West Mercia Police spokesman Richard Ewels said: "Disrupting the supply of illegal drugs into our local communities remains one of our priorities.

"We are constantly receiving information from members of the public for which we are grateful and this is followed up and carefully checked out.

"The police encourage people to pass on information by calling us on 101. Working together in this way can help make our neighbourhoods safer and more trouble-free."
