Murder trial is told traces of three substances found in blood of Ben Morutare
A teen who died after being stabbed had cocaine, cannabis and alcohol in his blood, a court has heard.
Blood samples were taken during a post-mortem of 16-year-old stab victim Ben Morutare, who was killed after a brawl outside the Smethwick Old Guards and Comrades Club last July.
Giving evidence at his murder trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday toxicologist Dawn Reed said amounts of the three substances were found in his blood. Andy Ly, aged 18, of Fulmer Walk, and Omar Robinson, 19, of Rann Close, both Ladywood, deny murder.
They also deny violent disorder along with Jordan Campbell, 18, of Portland Road, Edgbaston; Kwamae Phil-lips, 18, of Gillott Road, Edgbaston; Tahj Mills, 18, of Waterside Street, West Bromwich; Tobias Blake, 20, of Kelsall Croft, Ladywood, and Aaron Parkins, 19.
The trial continues.
