Burglars steal £2,000 haul from two Telford homes
More than £2,000 of electrical equipment and jewellery has been stolen in two burglaries in Telford.
Police are currently not connecting the burglaries but on both occasions, thieves gained access to the homes through unlocked doors.
The first burglary took place between midnight on Friday and 8am on Saturday at a property on Cornbrook, Stirchley. Thieves made their way into the house through an insecure door after climbing over the rear garden fence.
They stole a 43-inch black Samsung LCD television and a black Samsung DVD player, worth a combined £1,000.
The second burglary happened at an address on Chepstow Drive, Leegomery between 10.50am and 1.40pm on Saturday.
The thieves entered through the rear kitchen door and stole a black Samsung n100 laptop with a broken clip on the left screen hinge, a Hewlett Packard 650 laptop in silver, a Samsung Wave mobile phone and a Samsung Slide open black mobile phone.
They also stole two jewellery boxes, one green and one blue, which contained earrings necklaces and rings. They also took Calvin Klein aftershave and perfume. It is believed the total amount of goods stolen from the second burglary also tops £1,000.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Chris Ammonds, a spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "We would be keen to hear from anyone with information on either burglary. There are no obvious connections between the burglaries at this time."
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 84N 270713 for the burglary in Stirchley and 283S 270713 for the burglary in Leegomery.

Police also today appealed for information after an attempted robbery in Telford.
A 20-year-old man was walking along Haybridge Road in Hadley towards the industrial estate when he was approached by a man who immediately demanded he hand over his phone and his money.
The victim walked away but was pushed in the back and again asked for money and his phone. The victim again refused to hand them over but this time he crossed the road to get away from the offender.
Although the offender did shove the intended victim in the back one last time, he was then forced to flee the scene on foot without taking anything.
The would-be robber, who struck at 6.20am on Saturday is described as being white, aged about 40, as having a skinny build and being about 5ft 8inches tall.
He is also described as having a shaved head and as wearing a grey T-shirt.
