After a near two-month trial following the death of 16-year-old Ben outside a party in Smethwick, the jury will this week deliberate on five defendants.

Prosecuting barrister Mr Michael Burrows closed his case at Wolverhampton Crown Court, before the five defending solicitors began their closing statements.

Mr Colin McCarraher, defending Tahj Mills, questioned the identification of his client by two witnesses. He said: "There were a very large number of people milling around, watching. Getting a clear view of someone is not going to be easy."

Mills, 18, of Waterside Street, West Bromwich, denies violent disorder along with Jordan Campbell, 18, of Portland Road, Edgbaston; Kwamae Phillips, 18, of Gillott Road, Edgbaston; Tobias Blake, 20, of Kelsall Croft, Ladywood, and 19-year-old Aaron Parkins.
