Two violent robberies on teenagers in Telford were today being linked by detectives, who warned people to beware of a repeat attack.

On both occasions, victims were threatened on the street in Madeley.

DI Billy Scott, of Telford CID, said there is a strong possibility that one robber was responsible for both attacks.

In the first robbery, a 17-year-old girl was threatened with a knife after visiting a cashpoint by a man on a pushbike. He stole her Blackberry phone and £12 in cash.

The second attack saw a 16-year-old boy pulled to the ground and kicked before his Samsung Galaxy tablet computer and headphones were stolen. Once again, the offender fled on a pushbike.

The first robbery happened on December 29 in Russell Road and the second in Legges Way on Sunday.

DI Scott said: "Although we are keeping an open mind, we do believe there is a strong possibility that the same offender may be responsible for both robberies.

"We often see an increase in robbery offences post-Christmas, as potential offenders are aware that people may have new gadgets in their possession they could be carrying.

"People should do all they can to use any gadgets discreetly and try not to draw too much attention to themselves."

The descriptions for the two offenders are quite similar, with both being described as around 5 ft 10, white with a medium build and having a blue bike.

The man was wearing a high vis top for the first robbery and being dressed all in black including a black hooded top.

He was also described as having short light brown hair following the second robbery.
