Woman assaulted on Telford primary school car park

A woman was assaulted on a Telford primary school car park.

The 29-year-old woman was assaulted by a man outside Randlay Primary School between 2.40pm and 3pm on Monday, May 23.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman, Terri-Anne Powell said: "We are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to please get in touch.

"The 29-year-old victim was approached by a man, believed to be known to her, on the school car park. He began shouting and gesticulating.

"He is then thought to have thrown an object, described as a cigarette lighter, at the victim.

"The object has struck the victim in the face resulting in a cut to her upper lip. She did not require medical treatment.

"He has then left the scene in a black Honda Civic. Unfortunately, the registration details of the vehicle is unknown.

"This incident occurred at a busy location with parents picking children up from school. If you witnessed the incident you may be able to help officers with their investigation."

A 30-year-old man from Telford has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until Tuesday, June 21.
