Telford drug dealer stored cannabis and cocaine to take to music festival
A man stored a quantity of cocaine to take to a music festival, a court heard.
Jordan Hammonds, 20, was also said to have had a "regular business" supplying cannabis from his parents' address.
Hammonds was given a total of 14 months custody at a Young Offenders' Institution suspended for two years when he appeared Shrewsbury Crown Court. In addition he must complete a rehabilitation programme and carry out 150 hours unpaid work.
Hammonds, of Coronation Drive in Donnington, Telford, had admitted offences of possession of cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply.
Also in court was his 46-year-old step-father Gary Good, of the same address, who had admitted being in possession of a quantity of cannabis. Good, who is unemployed, was fined £75 and ordered to £135 costs.
The court was told that at an earlier hearing before magistrates Hammonds mother was fined £120 for allowing her premises to be used for the supply of drugs.
Mr Henry Skudra, prosecuting, said when officers went to the address in Donnington in August last year there was a strong smell of cannabis.
In the lounge they found a plastic tub of cannabis and scales, mobile phones and plastic bags and several bags containing cannabis.
He said that cannabis in a white box was said to belong to Good and there three plastic wraps of drugs linked to Hammomds.
Mr Skudra said that in addition 31 wraps of cocaine were recovered from under a pillow in Hammonds' bedroom.
In total there were 200 grams of cannabis at the address – half attributable to Hammond – and 15 grams of cocaine.
The court heard Good was a cannabis user and Hammond and friends had pooled money secure the cocaine to be stored until they attended a festival.
