Man, 27, arrested after two reports of indecent exposure in Telford
A man suspected of indecently exposing himself in public has been arrested after two incidents in Telford.
Officers have a now launched an appeal following the incidents which happened in Arleston and Madeley and which are being linked.
West Mercia Police said the first incident happened in Kingsland, Arleston, on Thursday, August 25, between 10pm and 10.15pm. It was reported after two women walking away from a shop noticed a man sitting in a parked vehicle with its headlights switched on. As they passed they noticed that he was performing a lewd act in the car.
This man then attempted to speak to the women while continuing to perform the act. Both women walked away and the car then pulled in front of them and the man tried to speak to them.
The man drove off when they threatened to phone the police.
The second incident happened the following day between 7.40am and 7.45am. A woman, in her 20s, was walking towards the bus stop opposite the dental practice on the High Street in Madeley when a man in a green vehicle spoke to her. She then noticed the man was performing a lewd act. He also made lewd comments before driving away.
Officers investigating the matters are appealing to residents in both areas to come forward with information after a 27-year-old man, from Telford, was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency. He has since been given police bail until September 27, pending further inquiries.
