Shropshire teenager had more than 100 child porn images and videos
A teenager caused another boy to be involved in pornography and paid for a sexually explicit video to be sent to him, a court heard.
The 17-year-old, from the Much Wenlock area, had struck up a friendship with the boy who was under the age of 16, Telford Magistrates Court heard.
Mr Stephen Blower, prosecuting, said in September last year the younger boy's father called West Mercia Police saying his son had been sending sexually explicit photographs of himself to the defendant.
He said most of their communications took place over social media.
Mr Blower told the court that the boy had received payment for a video he sent the defendant of himself committing a sexual act.
Police seized the 17-year-old's computer equipment and found dozens of indecent photographs and videos ranging from category C to category A – the most serious kind involving penetration. Mr Blower said not all of the photographs and videos showed the younger boy.
He said: "He was interviewed twice. He was quite honest with the police about what he had done."
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted six charges of making indecent photographs of a child.
The charges relate to more than 100 images or videos.
He also pleaded guilty to one count of causing a child to be involved in pornography and one charge of being in possession of 45 prohibited images of children.
Mr John McMillan, mitigating, told the court: "There's no suggestion that it was ever shared with anyone or distributed.
"This was a private matter."
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
The 17-year-old is expected to return to Telford Magistrates Court on October 24 to be sentenced.
He was released on conditional bail until the hearing.
