Two arrests after Telford immigration raids
Two men have been arrested following immigration raids on businesses in Telford.
West Mercia Police said officers worked with partners from Home Office Immigration Enforcement for an operation in the county.
They visited a number of commercial premises in Wellington as part of an operation that was dubbed Protect 2016.
Police and immigration enforcement vans were seen around premises in Whitchurch Road on Tuesday morning.
Witnesses reported seeing a number of police cars and several officers in uniform enter the building.
West Mercia Police today confirmed a 25-year-old man was arrested for immigration offences at the premises in Whitchurch Road.
It said a 30-year-old man was also arrested for immigration offences at a premises in High Street, Wellington.
The force said that officials at the UK Border Agency have been informed about the developments.
