Another cat is shot with air gun in spate of attacks near Oswestry

Pet owners near Oswestry are being warned to be on the look-out after a spate of incidents involving cats being shot with an air gun.

In the latest attack a black cat Benji was hurt after being targeted in the Pen Y Bryn Avenue area of Whittington.

He was shot between 6.20am and 7.30am on December 6.

Oswestry Rural North Safer Neighbourhoods Team which is investigating the matter believe the offender either lives in the vicinity or is visiting the area.

Earlier this month a cat had to undergo surgery after being shot in the leg with a similar weapon in the Meads area of Weston Rhyn on December 2.
