Roberto Roa Vallejo is alleged to have raped the woman after his friend had given them a lift from Shrewsbury back to his home.

The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, believed she would sleep on his sofa.

But on arrival she found that someone else was asleep there, which meant she ended up having to share Vallejo's bed with him.

The pair bumped into each other after the victim had been out celebrating a friend's birthday.

Vallejo, 33, of Claremont Mews, Wellington, is standing trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court accused of raping the woman and sexually assaulting her on March 29, 2014.

Ms Lynette McClement, prosecuting, said the victim had made it clear she didn't have any romantic feelings for Vallejo.

Despite repeatedly telling him no he continued trying to have sex with her, the court was told.

Vallejo denies raping the woman, but according to the prosecution, he accepts sex happened between the two but claims she had consented.

The trial continues.
