Off duty police officer assaulted in Newport
An off duty police officer was assaulted while helping a colleague in Shropshire.

The officer was assisting with an arrest in relation to an incident on Newport High Street around 7.30pm on Thursday.
The officer did not suffer any serious injuries during the incident and a 53-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of theft and assaulting a police officer.
She is on police bail until March 24.
