A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with stab wounds in a Telford flat.
The 48-year-old man is currently in hospital with serious injuries after police and paramedics found him in Terrace Lodge, on King Street in Dawley, in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services arrived at the property at 1.30am this morning, and a 30-year-old woman from Telford was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.
Detective Inspector Rob Mountford said investigations will be continuing around the area.
He said: "This is an extremely serious incident and officers will be in the area for most of the day carrying out house-to-house enquiries and looking for forensic evidence. At this time we believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other.
"We'd like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed or heard a disturbance."
Lisa O'Brien was at the scene:
The street showed no remains of a police investigation by mid-afternoon.
One resident of Terrace Lodge, Jayne Johnson, 37, said: "I was sitting in the room watching a DVD when I heard shouting on Sunday night.
"The shouting started at about 11.30pm. It went on for hours, then it just stopped.
"I heard the front door of the flats being kicked in. It was the police."
Another, Michael Walker, 47, said: "We heard people arguing. We just wanted to mind our own business. We didn't know what was going on."
