Police given extra time to quiz man over Telford, Shifnal and Market Drayton armed raids

Police were today given extra time to question a 33-year-old Telford man arrested in connection with three armed robberies and the theft of a car in Shropshire this week.

A 33-year-old Telford woman arrested at the same time has been released on bail until April.

The pair were arrested in connection with armed robberies at Lloyds Bank on High Street, Madeley at around 3pm on Monday; Barclays Bank on the Square in Shifnal at 3.30pm on Friday and the One Stop on Shrewsbury Road, Market Drayton at 10.20pm on Friday.

In addition a 34-year-old man from Telford arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident at Lloyds Bank in Madeley has been bailed until April while investigations continue.

Police are continuing to appeal for information.
