Pair accused of racial threats over Telford incident

Two men have been charged with a number of public order offences, including religiously aggravated threatening and abusing behaviour, over an incident in Telford.

Jason Stanyard, and Simon Humphreys will appear at Telford Magistrates Court on May 8 in connection with an incident in New Street, Wellington, on January 28.

Stanyard, 37, of Bewdley, Worcestershire, has been charged with one count of religiously aggravated threatening and abusive behaviour, one count of racially aggravated threatening behaviour and one count of threatening and abusive and insulting behaviour.

Humphreys, 50, of Kingswinford, is charged with one count of religiously aggravated threatening and abusive behaviour and one count of threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour.

The two men have been bailed.
