Police say someone in a White Transit van has been seen in Shawbury and sold some fish for an "over inflated" price to the couple.

PCSO Angela Newson, of the Wem safer neighbourhood team, said the vehicle has been traced back to the Durham area.

"I would just like to bring to people's attention a white Transit refrigerated van doing the rounds in the Shawbury area," she said.

"Unfortunately it targeted an elderly couple in the Shawbury area and sold a small amount of fish for an extremely over inflated price.

"The vehicle has been traced back to the Durham area with previous incidents involving targetting the elderly with a hard sell approach.

"We believe this vehicle may return to the area approximately every three months and we would really like to catch them here next time around."

If anyone sees anything suspicious in the area contact police on 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
