Vehicle batteries stolen in Cleobury Mortimer

Engine batteries were stolen out of six vehicles after a break-in at a secure yard in the Shropshire countryside.

Police are calling for witnesses or information after the vehicle batteries were stolen from six vehicles parked in the locked compound of a commercial premises near Cleobury Mortimer.

The burglary happened overnight, between 7pm on Tuesday and 5.30am on Wednesday.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "Officers will be contacting the victim to take further details as there is CCTV in the secure yard and further enquiries will be made.

The burglary follows the theft of two batteries from a skip lorry parked in a farmyard beside the A4117 at Foxwood, Hopton Wafers, between 5pm on April 13 and 9.30pm on April 14. Again, anyone with information is being asked to call 101, quoting incident 0143s of April 14.
