David Brookes, of Eastlea, Wistanswick, near Market Drayton, pleaded not guilty to three charges each involving indecent assaults on five occasions on dates between 1983 and 1989 when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.
Brookes also denied two charges of indecency with a child on dates between 1983 and 1987 when the alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was under 14 years of age.
At court yesterday Judge Peter Barrie adjourned the case until January 15 next year for trial and Brookes was allowed bail.
