Officers from Bridgnorth safer neighbourhood team acted on local intelligence and on Monday raided a small holding in Alveley.

Police described the find, in an outbuilding, as a ‘small scale cannabis cultivation site’.

A number of plants had already been harvested and a further group were due to be harvested in the next day or so.

With the quantity of plants and equipment located, other officers from the Cleobury Mortimer and Highley and Broseley and Much Wenlock safer neighbourhood teams were called in to assist.

All of the plants and associated equipment were seized by the police following the raid on Monday.

To ensure that the site was made safe, Western Power was contacted because access to the electrical power supply had been illegally obtained.

A full investigation is now being conducted.

All of the plants and equipment were taken to a secure storage facility and will be destroyed once all evidence has been obtained.

If you are aware of any cannabis cultivation, contact the police on 101. Alternatively, you can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you want to remain anonymous.
