Oswestry woman appears in court accused of attempted murder of baby daughter in Shrewsbury
An Oswestry woman charged with the attempted murder of her newborn baby girl has appeared in crown court via video link.
The 31-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, appeared via video at Stafford Crown Court yesterday in relation to an incident in Shrewsbury on April 22 last year.
She was expected to enter a plea but the case was adjourned for the preparation of a psychiatric report.
The woman was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing on July 27.
Her baby was discovered with serious injuries in the Meole Brace area of Shrewsbury.
