Man in court again over murder at cafe near Shrewsbury

A man has today appeared in court accused of murdering a man who was found dead in a roadside diner near Shrewsbury.

Belkar Singh, 58, of Booth Street, Birmingham, has been charged with the murder of 67-year-old Satnam Singh Blugher, known locally as "Mr B".

During his brief appearance at Stafford Crown Court, he wore grey trousers and a grey jumper, and spoke through an interpreter only to confirm his name.

Singh was remanded in custody and will next appear at Stafford Crown Court on September 15 where he will be asked to enter a plea.

A murder investigation was launched after Mr Blugher was found with serious injuries at Tony's Diner on the A458 at Halfway House at about 4.40pm last Monday.

He was discovered at the diner by paramedics following a 999 call.

Police were called and launched a murder inquiry.
