Jailed: Telford child rapist gets 17 years
A child rapist from Telford has been jailed for a total of 17 years for sexual offences against children.
Jeremy Jeyes, of Armstrong Close, Telford, was sentenced for a total of five sexual offences at Shrewsbury Crown Court.
Jeyes, who had denied the charges, was convicted of two charges of rape and three counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Daniel Oscroft, prosecuting, said Jeyes had incited the victims to engage in sexual activity.
A victim impact statement said the children’s innocence had been taken away from them, and one child had become aggressive.
Paul Smith, defending, said a pre-sentence report had outlined Jeyes had no previous history for this type of offence.
For two counts of rape and two counts of inciting sexual activity with a child he was jailed for 13 years.
For one count of sexual activity with another victim he was jailed for four years to run consecutive.
Jeyes was made subject of a sexual harm prevention order.
The 30-year-old will be on the sex offenders registers for life and was also disqualified from working with children for life.
