Man's body found in Telford street
A man's body was found in a residential street in Telford today.
Officers from West Mercia Police were called to Withywood Drive in Malinslee, at around 7.40am after reports that the body of a man in his 50s had been found outside a property.
The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem will take place in due course.
Next of kin have been informed and police are awaiting formal identification.
Police said the immediate area had been sealed off to allow forensic work to take place.
Pauline Griffen, 71, who lives in a flat in Withywood Drive near to where the body was found, said officers had been speaking to people in the area.
She said: “They cordoned off the area. I saw an ambulance and about four police officers outside.”
