A laptop, iPhone, bike, and alcohol bottles were among items stolen from the school in Ashton Road, Kingsland, during separate incidents on September 8 and overnight between August 25 and 26.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman, Alexa Neville, said: "There have been two burglaries at accommodation on the Shrewsbury School site in the last few weeks.

"The most recent incident happened between 10.30pm and 11.15pm on September 8 in which a laptop, iPhone and watch were stolen. The earlier incident happened between 6pm on August 25 and 10am on August 26 when a push bike, two cameras, a laptop and a number of bottles of alcohol were taken.

"Whilst the investigation has been ongoing a member of the public came forward to provide information that they had seen a man on the site that they did not recognise. It is not currently known if this individual is connected to the burglaries."

Nicola Bevan, spokeswoman for Shrewsbury School, said: "An incident of opportunistic theft from school premises was reported to police.

"Incidents of crime in the Kingsland area are thankfully few and far between. The school employs a range of CCTV and a team of site wardens to patrol the site, providing additional security."

An investigation into the two burglaries is ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 120s of September 8. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
