Takeaway delivery driver robbed at Telford roadside by men in balaclavas
A takeaway delivery driver has been robbed after being forced to pull over his car by three men wearing balaclavas.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was driving home in his blue Vauxhall Zafira in the early hours of Sunday morning after delivering a meal to an address in Oakengates.
He noticed he was being followed by a new-style, black Vauxhall Astra as he drove onto Finger Road in Dawley, where the vehicle moved out as if to overtake him.
The man slowed down and pulled over to his left, hitting a small post on the side of the road.
After stopping his car, the victim was approached by three men from the Astra, one of whom stood at the driver's partially open side window and demanded his wallet.
After handing over his wallet, the three men walked back to their car and have driven off.
The victim followed them in an attempt to take down the registration number, when he noticed an object being thrown from the passenger side.
The victim stopped and recovered what turned out to be his wallet, noticing cash had been taken from inside.
The car is reported to have driven off in the Brookside area with the men inside.
The men are believed to have been wearing black balaclavas, hooded tops and jeans.
West Mercia Police are now investigating the incident and are asking for anybody with information to come forward.
Witnesses are asked to call police on 101 and quote incident number 34s of September 17. Alternatively witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
