Gareth Hutchinson, 37, of Station Road, Ketley, and Adam Hutchinson, 19, of Turreff Avenue, Donnington, both denied causing grievous bodily harm to Andrew Sharratt.

During a trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court the jury heard that Mr Sharratt suffered injuries to his head in an incident in October last year, with a witness saying he saw two men set upon him.

Gareth Hutchinson told the court on Monday that he had been plagued with people damaging his property, so much so that he had moved his bed so he could see out of his window which he kept open to hear for any problems.

The court heard during the trial that Mr Sharratt had been standing outside the property wearing a monkey mask with a dumbbell bar, shouting 'come on then.'

Gareth Hutchinson said the man had smashed his car windows, so he grabbed him in a bear hug to keep him there until the police arrived.

He added the man dropped the metal bar and ran off down the road.

He said he did not assault the man and did not have a weapon.

The pair were cleared by a jury on Tuesday.
