Strange weed: Police seize cannabis plant growing in Cleobury Mortimer park
Police have seized a cannabis plant after it was found growing in a public park in Cleobury Mortimer.
The plant was spotted by a person who was walking through the park on Thursday.
They noticed the 'strange' plant growing wild among others and realised it had a strong aroma.
The man believed it was a cannabis plant and rang police to report it.
Officers confirmed the plant was a cannabis plant and headed to Catherton Park in Cleobury Mortimer to remove it. It will be destroyed.
During a search of the park area police did not find any other cannabis plants and said it is not thought it was part of a criminal enterprise to cultivate cannabis.
