Kieran Mark Goodwin, 18, of Little Henfaes Drive, Welshpool, made a one-minute appearance in the dock at Mold Crown Court yesterday.

He faced six charges; raping the girl aged under 16 in October 2016, having underage sex, and engaging in other sexual activity with her.

A plea and case management hearing was due to be held where he was expected to enter pleas.

But prosecuting barrister John Philpotts said that the defendant faced a number of additional charges which were not due before the crown court until December 1.

Judge Niclas Parry agreed to a joint application by Mr Philpotts and defending barrister Simon Mills that he should not enter pleas yet and for the present case to be adjourned so that all matters could be tied up.

Goodwin said nothing during the hearing apart from confirming his identity.
